Choosing the Right Boiler – Important Information

If you’re thinking of buying a boiler from our online boiler shop, and you’re not using Selectric Heating to install it for you, then you’ll be responsible for choosing one that is suitable for your property: for its size, its type and its age. Plus you need to think about your heating requirements.

On our shop pages you’ll find some downloads to help you work out the best boiler capacity for your needs.

Firstly there’s a boiler size chart. This shows recommended boilers that are suitable for the Economy 10 tariff based on the volume of the house in cubic metres, and the age of the property. There are recommendations for properties built before 2000 and those built after 2011.

The Thermaflow boiler size chart shows recommended boilers that are suitable for the Economy 10 tariff based on the volume of the house in cubic metres, and the age of the property.

Secondly there’s an electricity usage chart. This shows the typical costs connected with running the different Thermaflow electric boiler models. The figures are based on a two bedroom property using 11,000 KW hours per year.

And lastly there’s a property volume calculator. This will help you work out the volume of your property so you can use the information alongside the boiler size chart. It’s easy to use: all you have to do is enter the dimensions of the rooms of your property and the total volume in cubic metres will automatically appear in the total box. It’s in Excel spreadsheet format.
