No Flues Allowed? Go Electric.

We’ve been doing lots of electric boiler installations in London for developments where flues aren’t permitted so gas is a no-go.

In London it’s common to find new property developments shoe-horned into limited spaces. And why not? Location, location, location they say don’t they? I don’t suppose it matters if you’re living in a bijou space but are in the centre of the action and don’t have to take on the commuter battle every day.

So what happens is, properties are built in close proximity to each other. And because of this, they can’t have flues on the outside because they’d be too close to the next building. Also if the developments are located near council buildings, they can’t have flues either.

When buildings are developed close together, gas flues are not permitted, so electric boilers are the way to go.

Space Saving Flue-Free Boilers

So there’s only one solution for heating and hot water, and that’s to go electric. Electric boilers don’t need a flue as they don’t emit toxic gases. Plus the fact they’re energy efficient – most have a fuel efficiency rating of around 99% – and can be integrated with solar energy too. So they’re inexpensive to run and also good for more compact properties as they don’t take up much space at all.

If you’re developing in London or have bought a refurb project that’s located in an enclosed area or near to council offices, go for electric heating. You can get a free quote and advice by getting in touch.
